How did KASS call letters get approved by the FCC?

This is sort of related to drugs. The responsible people, instead of protesting, went to Nam (but probably used drugs after they got home).

WNAM is licensed to Neenah and Menasha, Wisconsin.
 
KOKE-FM 99.3 is an edgy progressive/alt-country station in the Austin, Texas, area -- probably the only place in the country such a format could work on a commercial station, although I'm sure the agencies and major advertisers want nothing to do with it.

Having been introduced to them in Nam. And the people responsible for that war sat in comfy offices in Washington throughout it and, for the most part, made sure their sons never fought.
