    First hour's up. It definitely sounds like the old school Super Estrella that made them famous. The promos leading to the launch were very rock en español heavy, yet, they played some pop songs.

    If that is the format 24/7 expect a 0.3 share or something in that range. OK music for a specialty show, but not sustainable.

    It sounds like they believe that there is a parallel opportunity for the same "kind" of format as KRTH, but in Spanish, and with the pop hits of the 80's and some 90's. However, the 80's was probably the worst decade for Spanish pop and light rock crossovers, with nearly no songs that test well today; it was the era when many pop stations in Mexico switched format.

    That's exactly what I was thinking. I logged the first 3 hours, than I stopped listening. I walked away from my desk during those two songs that are missing. Oh well, I doubt I missed anything out of this world.

    Puffery is something we all engage in when we launch a station.

    But if we look at history, in the PPM era KSEE averaged mid-1's early on, and then low 1's from about 2012 onward. And that is on a fairly good signal, with at least twice the Hispanic population coverage of the two 103.1 signals.
