Chris Hardwick accused of Rape and Domestic Violence by a ex girlfriend

Well, another high profile male celebrity has been caught by the #MeToo/#TimesUp movement, this time, it's comedian and TV personality Chris Hardwick, host of AMC's "Talking Dead" (the post show to "The Walking Dead" and it's spin off "Fear The Walking Dead" where they discuss the episode that had aired before the show), it's Spin off show "Talking with Chris Hardwick" and other "Talking" TV shows which focuses on talking about a episode of a AMC show, NBC's The Wall, the game show he co-created with NBA star LeBron James, founder of Nerdist, and former host of MTV's "Single Out, Comedy Central's "@Midnight" and was a contributor of G4TV's "Attack Of The Show" as he did segments for the show as we as sometimes fill in co-host.

The Nerdist founder and Talking Dead host is facing accusations of domestic violence and sexual misconduct including rape and forced sexual intercourse from a ex-girlfriend of his. the woman in question is former Nerdist employee Chloe Dystra (the daughter of special effects pioneer John Dykstra, who worked on the sets of Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica), who revealed in a post on the site Medium about her relationship with Hardwick, in which she accused him of these horrible crimes against her (and women in general) without naming him by name and having the people who read it put the clues together. She dated Hardwick from 2011-2014. Hardwick has gone on to marry Lydia Hearst, (the daughter of famed kidnap and brainwashing victim Patty Hearst and also great granddaughter of William Randolph Hearst, the founder of Hearst Communications) in 2016.

And already, his site, (which was sold to Legendary Entertainment in July 2012 after he founded it several months earlier while he still was employed by G4TV and it's parent company NBC Universal) has already erased his involvement in the site from the site itself. And it's possible he may lose his gigs at AMC, NBC and may had already been ousted at Nerdist.

If this is true, this is another PR nightmare for NBC, which has dealt with #MeToo related scandals with Matt Lauer, Mark Halperin and Tom Brokaw, all in the News division of the network, also AMC may either cancel the "Talking" franchise or replace Hardwick with someone else who is beloved in nerd culture.

The story from The Wrap as well as Dykstra's Medium post:

Wow Now its Lebron James one of the owners along with (Glassman Media and Core Media) of the Wall Show has to made a decision to either change the host or cut the contract with NBC Now that Chris Hardwick is facing abuse allegations.

In the wake of the news that AMC has pulled Chris Hardwick's talk show, NBC said it is also reconsidering its relationship with The Wall host in the wake of allegations that he emotionally and sexually abused his former girlfriend Chloe Dykstra.

"These allegations about Chris Hardwick took us by surprise as we have had a positive working relationship with him. However, we take allegations of misconduct very seriously. Production on The Wall does not begin until September, and in the meantime we are continuing to assess the situation and will take appropriate action based on the outcome," the network said in a statement Saturday.

Dykstra never mentioned Hardwick by name in her post detailing the nature of her harrowing experiences, or in her subsequent tweets on the subject, but the fallout has been swift. On Friday, Hardwick's name was scrubbed from Nerdist, the company he founded and later sold. Hardwick's AMC series Talking with Chris Hardwick was also pulled from AMC's schedule, and his plans to moderate panels for Doctor Who and The Walking Dead at San Diego Comic-Con were cancelled
