Radio disney

We've been noticing this around the country, in Philadelphia and New York, that Radio Disney is no longer available on HD stations. There had been agreements with CBS and also iBiquity to put Radio Disney on HD channels. Apparently that deal is over, perhaps it ended yesterday (the end of May).

Guess K-Earth Classics was not seriously considered.
 
I guess putting All-News KNX on the HD-2 channel on KRTH 101.1 is just a place holder. KNX has already been running a long time as the HD-2 channel on KCBS-FM 93.1.

And ChannelFlipper is right. Why not put a 60s/70s oldies format on KRTH's HD-2 channel? As Classic Hits stations like KRTH keep moving up in decades, so that they only plays a few 70s songs and no 60s songs, it makes sense to use the HD-2 channel for the original playlist of 60s/70s titles.

Someone pointed out that KOLA in San Bernardino has been adding some early 2000s songs to its playlist, with only a few 70s songs now airing each hour.
 
Tom Taylor today posted an article about Radio Disney on HD, quoting Scott Fybush:

Has Radio Disney ended its national HD Radio deal?
Scott Fybush at Northeast Radio Watch says “Philadelphia is one of several markets where Radio Disney has been quietly airing on HD Radio subchannels for the last few years, as part of an arrangement between Radio Disney and the HD Radio Alliance partners.”

The article doesn't reach a conclusion. No one has actually spoken with anyone at either Radio Disney or the HD Radio Alliance for confirmation.

From my recollection, there were originally two deals, both done 3 years ago, in April 2015. One was with iBiquity, the other with CBS Radio. Both apparently have ended. But so far, no actual statement from any of the principles on the decision.
