I'd check out 93.3 today at 3p

Seattle has 725,000 residents now according to the Seattle Times: https://www.seattletimes.com/seattl...est-growing-big-city-in-all-of-united-states/

This is an increase of 114,000 in Seattle since 2010. All other cities in King County increased just by 15,000 or 1%.

But if you add up ALL the growth (not just to Seattle and King County), the whole area has gone up. Even Skagit and Whatcom counties have grown significantly and there's development everywhere. Most of the newer folks in Mount Vernon commute to Seattle because they can't even find housing, to say nothing of affordable, in Seattle. But with gas prices now almost back at recession levels, the dynamics may shift in another direction pretty soon...

The 15K figure for King County is for one year only.

The population of Seattle increased by 17K in a year, the rest of King County increased by 15K in a year. A 2.5% increase vs. a 1% increase, for what it's worth.

Auburn and Redmond's growth outstripped Seattle's last year -- 3.5% gains. Bellevue was 2.3%.

In other words -- the whole area is growing.

I pity whoever's dumb enough to take this gig.

".....you will need to bring authenticity and passion for the music and artists...."

(Be a subscriber to Vibe and XXL magazines.)

".....a relentless work ethic...."

(The masochistic will to do the work of five people for half the salary of one.)

".....and most importantly, the ability to connect and engage with the listeners and fans of the hottest music genre in the country in a highly competitive market...."

(The will to explain again and again and again for listeners who demand answers on what happened to KUBE the first time and why they should trust corporate radio again.)

The other day when out and about in the City I saw two large "KUBE is BACK!" billboards. At least they are promoting. For whatever that's worth.
