    WRME-LP Chicago 87.7

I've moved to Indiana. I've been playing around with my radio and antenna trying to get this station. Wondering if anyone has any thoughts or input. It may simply not be possible. I've looked at www.receptionmaps.com and I am at the very weakest point. I probably need a better radio and a tower maybe 50 feet in the air.

    Koontz Lake, Indiana
    Cambridge SoundWorks Radio 820HD
Pixel AM/FM External Outdoor High Definition Radio Antenna (AFHD-4)

It's connected via quad shielded coaxial cable - about 25 feet long. I've also tried the RCA 12dB Video Signal Amp (VH200R) which helped with some stations, but ultimately I've returned it figuring there must be better ones out there.

Important to note, in my car the station does come in but there is static when I am moving. My car must be acting as one huge antenna! I would have thought being stationary it would come in. I have a feeling the tuner on my radio is not good enough?

You need more gain than what your whip antenna can deliver. Outdoor FM directional antennas for the consumer market are harder to find these days, but a couple of models are still available.

Thanks! I'll check those out and report back. We are moving in several weeks, so I'll see where we end up. (it won't be the last move)

For $100 I expected a bit more from the AFHD-4, however, I do get pretty good receptions other stations, but it has to be outside and high. (of course)

I was torn when I purchased this, wondering if I should opt for one that has more elements.
