I was always fortunate enough to keep my personal life off the air. I always used an “air name”. I dated a girl for almost a month before she figured out what I did for a living. I didn’t lie but Harris Enterprises really didn’t (doesn’t) describe too much. She looked up Harris in the phone book (pre internet days) and thought I worked at the Garden City Telegram Newspaper.

It's hard to read all that without my jaw dropping. Most of the people I know in radio, both in front of the mic and on the other side of the soundproof glass, are scraping by. Some working more than one job. A lot subsiding on ramen noodles for far too much of their diet. So the idea of a local radio host being able to pay for a mansion is just unfathomable, much less the idea that he got that far in over his head.

I'm impressed.
