The St. Petersburg Times TV listings had adapted to widespread coverage, with the Tampa/St. Pete channels on a separate page. They also used the channel bullets and an abbreviation of the city of broadcast. I have efforted to translate those channels into their calls and cities.

And because ol' dummy here is a tad absent minded, I erroneously left out WUSF/ch. 16's listings. To wit:

3:30 PM - Introduction To Psychology
4 PM - Personal Finance
4:30 - Social Science
5 PM - Current Novels
5:30 - Motor Development
6 PM - Misterogers' Neighborhood
6:30 - Electric Company
7 PM - Personal Finance
7:30 - Introduction To Psychology
8 PM - Current Novels
8:30 - Motor Development
9 PM - Social Science
9:30 - Our Street
10 PM - Basketball: South Florida vs. University of Chicago

Suncoast Digest was hosted by Christine Chubbuck, who shot herself to death live on air not 6 months after this day's schedule.

And another error by yours truly: Channel 4 in Jacksonville should be WJXT. WJAX is the current CBS station there, on channel 47.

Now the Times doesn’t even bother to print any TV listings; the Times (like many other newspapers) at an extra charge will include a TV magazine that supposedly is geared to the local market, but it’s useless if you want the listings of any of the subchannels (Me TV, Antenna TV, MOVIES!, LAFF, My TV etc) ; perhaps they aren’t aware of cable cutters who are watching tv OTA.

The Times used to have great descriptions for TV programming, but I always disliked its grid style. It was very difficult to understand.

Even back in 1974, WTVT had an hour of news at noon? Of course they were pre-empting Y&R at this time. Years later they dumped Search for Tomorrow and never did air Capitol or Bold and the Beautiful.

I forget which Tampa Bay newspaper it was (it have been the Tampa Tribune), but one of them used to include each station's numerical logo in the TV grid. I thought that was cool.
