Another week, another WEEI controversy

Pretty soon talk radio will be silent, because anything you say will offend someone, somewhere.

According to the Sacramento Bee the host Christian Fauria was going after Don Yee a sports agent.

Radio station WEEI says in a statement it doesn't support host Christian Fauria's "insensitive and ill-conceived attempt at humor." The former tight end for the New England Patriots was impersonating athletic agent Don Yee when he used the racially charged accent on his weekday show Friday.

Fauria says he "made a horrible attempt at humor" and supports the station's decision to discipline him.

Yee is of Chinese descent but was born in Sacramento, California. He represents athletes including Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and receiver Julian Edelman.

Ordway, who's got decades of experience, shoulda derailed this before CF got so far into it. Instead, producers played along with music in the background,

City of Boston Credit Union and Comcast among those suspending advertising from WEEI

Is it me or are they all trying to be Howard Stern. I listen to Dale,Holley, and Keefe via online stream. I hear the morning shows promo and they are always yelling at each other and not about sports either.

Shirley Leung, Globe:
>>At least two organizations, including Comcast Corp., have suspended advertising on sports-talk radio station WEEI following racially insensitive comments from one of its hosts.

The cable giant and the City of Boston Credit Union have pulled their campaigns, effectively immediately, after midday host Christian Fauria imitated a well-known sports agent by speaking in a stereotypical Asian accent.

Hopefully, Fauria and company will resist the temptation to comment at all on Ms. Leung, lest foot again be inserted in mouth.

The way they think over there, it's a net-plus.

Some perspective: Sen.D'amato did something very similar with an Asian accent on the Imus show and sent his political career into a tailspin he couldn't pull out of.http://www.nytimes.com/1995/04/06/nyregion/d-amato-mocks-ito-and-sets-off-furor.html
Different time though and Christian doesn't look to have any problems at EEI.

And calling Chuck Schumer a "putzhead" didn't win D'Amato much favor with the Jewish community.
