Terry Crews is a hulk of a man, standing at 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing in at 240 pounds. He was a linebacker in the National Football League in the early 1990s, who parlayed his sparkling personality and comic talent into a successful acting career.

Moviegoers likely know Crews from his roles in absurdist comedies like “White Chicks” and “Blended,” while television fans might recognize him from “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” or “Everybody Hates Chris.”

As intimidating, famous and beloved as the actor is, he wants everyone to know that even he felt afraid to come forward with his own story of being sexually harassed last year by a powerful man in Hollywood.

He didn’t want to be “ostracized,” he says.

He was a mid-level actor and his alleged assailant was a powerful Hollywood agent with the capacity to potentially squash his career.

Crews also didn’t think many people would believe him, he said on Twitter.

But after the New York Times published an exposé on Oct. 5 alleging that film producer Harvey Weinstein used his position to sexually harass and assault aspiring young women, he chose to open up.

Crews alleged that talent agent Adam Venit groped his genitals at a Hollywood party. Crews acknowledges the obvious question: Why wouldn’t a man of his muscle just wallop any predator? The actor wanted to fight him, to strike back, he has said, but feared that the situation would be misperceived since he is a large black man. He didn’t want to end up in jail or lose his career.

Crews’s perspective adds a crucial dimension to the national conversation about sexual misconduct perpetrated by powerful men: that victims feel trapped because they are professionally beholden to someone higher up the ladder, who uses his power against them. In that sense, physical size doesn’t matter. In Crews’s case, being black in America played a role, too.
This is one of a few cases where a man is listed as the rape victim and some of the outlets are saying that Adam Venit the person named as the accused has returned to WME.

He should have kicked that little "flamboyant boy's" arse. A good old fashion arse whooping would have solved this situation quick. I know what I would do!

Wow Terry Crews was victim blamed by Russell Simmons and now Karma has hit Russell Simmons as soon as 5 women came forward against him.

This incident came into play as soon as Crews was in the process of suing Adam Venit for rape allegations on him.

Here is another update on the Adam Venit Lawsuit

The statute of limitations for misdemeanors expires after one year.
Terry Crews' criminal complaint against William Morris Endeavor agent Adam Venit has been declined by the Los Angeles County city attorney, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

"The matter was referred to our office and was subsequently declined due to the lapse in statute of limitations for misdemeanor cases," a representative for Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer said.

The alleged incident, in which Crews claims Venit "squeezed [his] genitals," occurred in February, 2016.

In the wake of October 2017 reports from The New York Times and New Yorker detailing sexual misconduct by media mogul Harvey Weinstein and the ensuing #MeToo movement, Crews tweeted about the incident, but didn't name Venit.

WME placed Venit on a one-month, unpaid suspension at the end of October. Crews filed a police report over the incident on Nov. 8, 2017.

Update on the Adam Venit Misconduct lawsuit.

Last October, as the #MeToo earthquake was beginning to rip through the Hollywood power structure following abuse allegations connected to producer Harvey Weinstein, actor Terry Crews significantly readjusted the national conversation.

In tweets, the “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” star laid out his own claims of experiencing sexual harassment. At a party in 2016, a “high-level Hollywood executive” came up to Crews and “groped my privates,” the actor wrote. Crews later publicly identified the executive as Adam Venit, a longtime industry power-player who represented marquee names such as Adam Sandler, Sylvester Stallone, Eddie Murphy and Vince Vaughn. Crews went on to file a police report about the incident, as well as a lawsuit against Venit and his agency, William Morris Endeavor.

But Crews’s revelation reverberated well beyond his own case. His public stand detonated stereotypes by showing a 240-pound former NFL player could also be the victim of sexual assault, thus widening the lens of the #MeToo movement. Time included Crews among the “the silence breakers” named in the magazine’s person of the year feature.

Now, Crews’s legal case has come to an end. On Thursday, William Morris Endeavor announced the lawsuit has been settled.

“Terry Crews, Adam Venit and WME have settled the lawsuit Mr. Crews filed last year,” the agency said in a statement, according to the Hollywood Reporter. “It will be dismissed.”

According to Deadline, Venit is also planning to retire from WME on Monday. He had previously been suspended and demoted following Crews’s allegation.

After news of the settlement and Venit’s exit, Crews responded on Twitter with a single word: “ACCOUNTABILITY,” he wrote.

That was the theme Crews has continually hit on since speaking out.

“People need to be held accountable,” the actor told “Good Morning America” last November. “This is the deal about Hollywood. It is an abuse of power. This guy, again, he’s one of the most powerful [men] in Hollywood, and he looked at me at the end as if, ‘Who is going to believe you?’”

Update on the Adam Venit issue.

WENN) -- Terry Crewss has posted the apology letter he received from the Hollywood agent he accused of groping him.

The Expendables star alleged Adam Venit touched him inappropriately at a party in 2016 last October, and he has since been publicly vocal about the trauma the incident caused.

Venit apologized to Terry earlier this year, and now Crews has posted the letter to his Twitter account, revealing he accepted the agent's apology following his recent resignation from William Morris Endeavor, which ended Crews' legal spat with the firm.

Accepted WITH HIS RESIGNATION: September 10th, 2018 #Accountability," the actor wrote.

In the letter, Venit takes responsibility for his actions and asks Crews for his forgiveness.

"The intent of this letter is to start a dialogue in service of taking responsibility for the emotional challenge that this experience has caused you and your family," the letter reads. "I have dedicated myself to spiritual self-discovery in an effort to be the best person I can be for the rest of my life, and hopefully make difference to me, my family and everyone I know..."

"I know that you didn't ask for any of this," Venit continues. "Again, I take full responsibility for us being here now, together in this situation. I am sorry for all of it... I have no right to expect your forgiveness, but I am asking for it nonetheless."

And Venit even suggests he and Terry could one day work together.

"I even hope that someday we can come together and go forward with compassion and understanding and be an amazing force for positivity and change in our culture," he adds.
