Fallout

That has not stopped our legal system from being flooded with litigation on this point.

I'm not certain the EEOC has a category for "looks" in employment discrimination. So it may be hard to say to the EEOC "they didn't hire me because I am not good looking," and something like that may be even harder to prove. Which was my point.

Fox News still enforces its rules prohibiting female on air staff from wearing pants suits! They are required to wear skirts, the shorter and tighter the better! What does that have to do with News? Why aren't men required to wear similar revealing clothing?

Sex sells. Generally, men are visual, women less so (their lizard-brains are more attracted to power, although you can reduce a woman to a quivering pool of jello if you have massive ham arms - studies have shown the single largest male 'asset' women are attracted to are their muscular forearms.)

And furthermore, women are attracted to handsome men with square jaws, TV smiles, and decent builds. I'm sure that good looking men have a better chance at getting hired than those who aren't blessed with good looks. It's the way the world works, whether we like it or not.

Lets turn this thread back to broadcasting. I say the fallout from these scandals reveal that more people will support shows similar to To Catch a Predator and it gets a reboot by Chris Hansens production crew or would want more episodes on tv where a vigilante kills a predator or an Edgar Welch type person on TV.

Case and point Chicago P.D. Army of One.

Yes Riverdale on the CW had an episode where a man took revenge against a predator via vigilante action because he accused the predator for going after his girlfriend. I say given the recent fallout from the Metoo scandals. It's a matter of Time until more TV shows on Hulu, Netflix, and All Access gets shows to include a man killing or punching a person he accuses of misconduct in the most popular shows on these TV/Movie apps.

Also like I mentioned in other places To Catch A predator would have to return to TV as a reboot.

This is indicative of how depraved our society has become. Even on this site we have "contributors" (they know who they are) who are awfully quick to defend and rationalize the disgusting behavior of pedophiles, yet conveniently ignore the cries and suffering of the victims!

Yes and when we starts killing one of the predators/offenders/deranged its called Vigilante Justice and somehow a dead offender can do "Blame the Hero". But Living offenders do blame the victim. Note I say Dexter would have to be considered for a reboot at some point.

The only problem with vigilantism is when the person has been falsely accused, which can happen. We have a criminal court system for a reason. We have cops for a reason. And laws for a reason. The system isn't perfect by any stretch. But there is a reason it's in place.

True but expect vigilante justice to be trending this year though in terms of TV dramas and movies story themes. Yes in practice the mentally disabled and the poor tend to have their rights violated and are victims of vigilante abuse.

And even a decade or more ago when TO Catch a Predator came out and the Catholic abuse scandal was still an ongoing issue the trend of Vigilantes in drama's were still a thing when it came to abuse issues. Even when Dexter was still a thing at the time.
