The criteria for indoor listening is 65 dbu and for in-car it is 60 dbu. While 54 dbu used to be the de facto metric for in-car, the profusion of new translators and adjacent channel LPFMs and such has made that questionable in reality.
Frequency swaps are never good. Case in point. September 3 was the final day for our programmer who left for another station. I get 2 or 3 calls a day asking why they can't hear them on the station I manage whereas I was getting likely about 100 the fist few weeks. It is now 3 full months later.
I've been running a loop asking for clients and generating up to 100 calls a day. We're a daytime AM station in Houston. Amazing the number of people who just happen to cross paths with the station. If nobody listens to AM, try answering my phone. Amazing fact: the best way to get calls to come in when you're the only one in the office: go to the can! It rings every time.

Any chance that Univision Houston will at least fix the audio issues that have plagued KQBU? The audio difference between 104.9 and 93.3 is huge. 93.3 sounds quite awful.

Noticed today that KQBU is back in stereo, and the overall audio quality has improved.
Sounds way better now. There is still a slight audio quality difference between KAMA and KQBU, but overall this is a huge improvement. It no longer sounds like an AM station.
The station also seems to have better reception inside the Loop now as well. It's a lot better than KKHT or the Liberman duo.

Changing COL is done all the time..97.5 went from Beaumont to Mont Belvieu..93.3 could change its COL since 98.5 is still licensed to Port Arthur... Though neither do programming directed to the COL..Liberman is illegal in that it does not have a local or toll free number available to the COL..Univision does and has a local studio in Beaumont!
Yes it is. But in this instance, it cannot be changed to "Houston". It's impossible.
