Now who knows how this plays out given that recent reports of a need of an organ transplant at play here too. Also Organ damage is at play here hope for the best.

David Cassidy has been hospitalized for organ failure and is in need of a liver transplant, a close family friend said Saturday.

The 67-year-old "Partridge Family" star was rushed to a hospital on Wednesday, and is conscious and surrounded by loved ones, publicist Jo-Ann Geffen told NBC News. According to reports, he is being treated in Florida.

Cassidy shot to '70s teen idol stardom when he was cast to play the role of Keith Partridge on the hit musical TV show, which aired for four seasons and led to what the media called at the time "Cassidymania."

He went on to become a successful singer garnering a loyal fan base and performing many of his hit songs from "The Partridge Family," such as "I Think I Love You."

The actor returned to the small screen in 2009, when he starred in ABC Family's "Ruby & The Rockits," which ended after one season.

Cassidy, who is the father of musician Beau Cassidy and actress Katie Cassidy, has dealt with a number of personal struggles in the last few decades, including three arrests for drunk driving as well as a divorce and bankruptcy.

this sounds similar to wrestling icon "Nature Boy" Ric Flair's recent near death experience back in August.

He's not likely a candidate for a transplant, so his remaining time is likely limited. I hope he's not in any great pain or discomfort.

David Cassidy, 'Partridge Family' Star & Teen Idol, Dies at 67 :(

David Cassidy, the former teen heartthrob best known for his role on the 1970s musical series The Partridge Family, died on Tuesday (Nov. 21) at age 67 following a recent hospitalization for multiple organ failure. The actor/singer rose to fame on the light family drama that also made stars out of Danny Bonaduce and Susan Dey, then parlayed his popularity into a career as a teen idol and successful, if short-lived recording artist. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed his passing, but his cause of death has not yet been revealed.

I liked his show and his character. I even sort of liked his music. I get to hear it more now than I used to since the America's Best Music station went Good Time Oldies.

Before I ever watched the show, TV Guide printed a letter from a reader with the headline "Silent Partridges" which said he and maybe his mother were the only ones who sang.
