Robert Knight ...one hit wonder

WHY do most stations INSIST on playing Carl Carlton's version of this song?????!!!!
I grit my teeth whenever this happens.....grunting... "Robert Knight, d***it! ROBERT KNIGHT!!"

And I just played Knight's EL the other morning on YT while dressing for work (I felt like playing it).

As for Carlton's version, heck, I'd sooner hear it than Gloria Estafan's (which, among other things, is too drawn out IMO).

But Knight's version is the best. It sounds like angels are accompanying him, and now he's with them. RIP Robert. Thanks for your hit being an "Everlasting" staple of the Philly oldies stations back when I lived and worked where I could get them (like WCAU-FM/WOGL).

I love Robert Knight's version of EL (and yes that xylophone thingie bridge). Carl Carlton's is a close second, and was a big hit in its own right. The other covers...just no.
