Let me guess, if the shooter was a non-white, it was "terrorism", but if it was a white man, it was just a deranged man with a gun. I'm surprised with Texas' gun laws and culture, that this doesn't happen more.

That's about right plus "The NRA" will be included in this debate on the national talk shows today and how powerful they are.

I personally wonder if it was a domestic situation. Although they weren't there, they said the gunman's in-law's attended services at the church regularly.
 
It stopped being a domestic situation when the family wasn't there and he decided to shoot up the church anyway. He was very open about his contempt for those who believe in God. What we saw on Sunday was nothing more than an expression of fanatic hatred. USA Today has been asking a relevant question: what is the difference between this guy's actions and terrorism? My opinion is that the line is thin; the motives are identical. We tend to think of terrorism as having a political agenda, but i doubt that the street-level ISIS soldier is motivated by anything more than his fanatic hatred for those that he murders.
