My name is Serena, and I produce a one-hour-long radio show that is available in syndication for free to commercial and non-commercial stations alike. Radio Serena is an eclectic music show that, while emphasizing 90’s hits and 50’s and 60’s oldies, plays a wide variety of music guaranteed to keep people guessing. As well as our normal music mix, Radio Serena features themed shows (such as tribute shows, and all request shows), and on the second week of the month, Radio Serena presents the format of the month, where one style of music is presented in the context of a real radio format. Radio Serena incorporates both elements of commercial and non-commercial radio, in that there is imaging, along with consistent musical categories (90’s hits and 50’s and 60’s oldies), yet Radio Serena features non-commercial eclecticism in that anything from Classic Rock to Jazz to Alternative to any other genre might be played on the show. While the show has had success on non-commercial community stations, I would like to expand the show to other stations – especially commercial stations, as I would like to be able to sell barter adds on a commercial version of the show In order to pay for imaging and jingles. Radio Serena is perfect for stations running a free-form format, small commercial stations looking for a great free program to add to their overnight schedule, or commercial and non-commercial stations that want a show that keeps their listeners wondering what will come next.
