News for most stations...but not all

Have you ever seen or noticed a news story, breaking or already scheduled, that is covered by most news outlets but not all? And if you have, did the outlet that didn't cover it give a reason?
I'll start with the September 1980 between Ronald Reagan and John Anderson. President Carter boycotted the event since he wanted to only debate Reagan. NBC and CBS both telecast the debate, but ABC instead aired the Turkish prison movie "Midnight Express". According to Broadcasting Magazine, ABC News head Roone Arledge cited Carter's failure to appear as the reason ABC passed on covering the debate.

When Yitzhak Rabin was was assassinated, Bob Schieffer interrupted a figure skating event on CBS for the bulletin. But ABC continued to show the Michigan-Michigan state college football game. NBC still showed the Notre Dame game too.

Jimmy Carter once made a speech on a Sunday Night, but NBC continued to show the Oilers-Broncos NFL game. And ABC stuck with the ALCS during the Iceland Summit while CBS preempted the Redskins-Cowboys game.

During the 1976 primary season, CBS showed the Golden State-Detroit NBA playoff game instead of primary coverage. Did ABC show the 88 Calgary Olympics instead of the 88 New Hampshire primary?
EDIT: the primary was a few days earlier. Don't think CBS would air an NBA game on a night when primaries were being held anyway.

In 1966, CBS preempted Password for a press conference by Robert McNamara and ABC aired the Newlywed Game instead. 9 years later... President Ford called a news conference to announce a series of appointments to his new administration(which at that time was a big deal.). NBC News chose to pre-empt Jackpot! at the noon hour to carry the Ford conference live. CBS News did not and continued with The Young and the Restless. Guess which show is still on today? Yep, Y&R. Of course there was the time NBC carried a senate hearing, while CBS aired a rerun of The Lucy Show.

How much reportage of net neutrality is there on news outlets owned by ISPs, videlicet, NBC and CNN?
