When & Where Will KPHX Resurface?

14~Eighty has been silent since July and is being sold. In addition to the license, the land under its three sticks is being sold as well. So Los Buckeye Boyz wonder when and where it will spring back to Ancient Modulation life? Well, that's our guess..not until Spring 2018. As far as the towers go, a diplex no doubt...they need two sticks for daytime, and three for nighttime. But where?

Or maybe they will just turn in the license. No one seems to be missing KPHX-AM right now. The sale could have just been done to pave the way (no pun intended) to sell the land, ala KMIK-AM in Mesa.

Personally, I wish they would come back on the air with that Lounge music sound and then grab an FM translator or an HD sub channel. Sadly, we all know that is not happening!

$100k for the equipment and a donation credit from the non-profit Buyer. Land has been spoken for, so that forces a move of the xmttr. The 5kw signal wasn't too bad, but the night was very limited with 500 watts and three sticks. Our guess is they'll downgrade along the lines of KIHP and KQFN.

Turn the license in...who listens to Ancient Modulation anymore anyway, especially at the high end of the dial?

They're baaacck...kinda, sorta. Moving to Shaw Butte with a long wire and 90 watts of pow-pow-power daytime only. Six month STA, butte of course!

Guessing it will be back on the air in a week or two. Might pair with 96.5 translators?

Didn't he swap that with EMF a while back? It's located at Shaw Butte, so you could be right. Why else own a lame Ancient Modulation station if you can't pair it with a translator and have a chance?
