CBS News Radio 90th Anniversary special

What's interesting to note is this podcast marks the revival of the CBS Radio Network name, which they retired in the 90s. The network came first, and the owned stations came later. At one point in the 80s, the CBS Radio Network offered news, features, services, and even a young adult service called RadioRadio. But along the way, most of those other things dropped away, mainly leaving the news product. Now in 2017, they can use that name, while the part of the company Entercom bought can't. It'll be interesting to see what happens next.

But skyview will hold the distribution contract to CBS News Radio in 2018 from CBS itself. And CBS will have affiliation agreements via skyview in 2018.

I remember the big 3 hour CBS Radio 50th anniversary special they did hosted by Walter Cronkite back on 9/18/77.
I'll have to give this one a listen.

Thanks for posting!
