Programming Alert

This just in to the Buckeye Media Hut:

First...a Beg-A-Thon alert is in effect for next Wednesday as both KTAR and KMVP will be axing for your $$ while making you feel like you're watching Oprah, but on the radio. Free Pontiacs for the studio audience will not be offered this year.

Second..a Big Bang alert is in effect if the unstable leaders in Poynyang and Pennsylvania Ave get trigger happy. If they do, tune your radio to 14~Eighty for such favorites as "Eve of Destruction", "In the Year 2525", "Blowin In the Wind", and many more. Plus if this is really it, we're goin' out with a Bang...Bang 545!

We now resume normal programming...remember, it's all for the children.

And conveniently scheduled during a KJZZ pledge drive, too!

If Ron Wolfley's non-stop use of "Basinonians" isn't a good reason to sample 1580/99.3/95.9/(insert today's new FM frequency here), Wednesday would be if you're a 98.7 listener.

Ron Wolfley? Shirley you jest. These Beg-A-Thons are the reason Nurse Jeff and I take our vacation time in August. Look out Pacoima (or is that Pacoimians?), here we come!

One can argue that the only time 98.7 does any kind of sports talk that's not filtered through Michael Bidwill and company would be between the hours of 10am and 2pm.

Why are the beg-a-thons always scheduled on the worst days of the monsoon? I could be mistaken, but I distinctly remembering golf-ball hail and roads flooded on the same day of these beg-a-thons, and Mac & Cheese gave an on-air scolding to callers who were wondering where Detour Dan was.

And that's only since Jurecki came on board a couple months ago. B-train alone, being an ex-Cardinal, spewed just as much Koolaid as Wolfley, but in English.
