Yeah, someone once said in a similar discussion a few years back that younger audiences associate terrestrial talk radio with something their parents or grandparents listened too...something to that effect..and that liberal talk would do much better if it adopted new media as it's channel for pushing content. Not sure how true but it makes sense since so many younger folks listen to podcasts and stream music on their phones or computers and trying to pick up talk radio on an AM freq in a large city is agonizing. Lots of streaming options like iHeart, TuneIn, ProgressiveVoices...podcasts...FreeSpeechTV...all new media sources. SiriusXM has a progressive channel
Also worth noting...WPEK, 880 AM in Asheville, NC has been doing progressive talk since 2004 and is still going pretty strong. Daytime broadcasting only...weekends have other programs like Kim Kommando and some local programming. It's another iHeart station.
