CBS vs Pre '72 Music

How do you think this will play out? Here is an article that CBS is alledgely being sued for not paying royalties for pre '72 music http://www.insideradio.com/free/cbs...cle_55776ebe-730b-11e5-b7bb-8f6c3f4f669b.html. This is not going to affect most stations...since most play a little 70s, mostly 80s and a sprinkle of 90s...but the classic hits station near me, plays about 2-3 60s an hour WOGL. You think this will force them to drop all 60s and play a lot more 80s? Any thoughts?

This has to do with streaming, not OTA. Of course CBS streams its OTA stations, but that's what this is about. The specific suit in the article has to do with songs that CBS doesn't play. It's a very easy suit to win.

The issue is a bigger problem for hobbyists who run oldies internet stations.

I believe this was the same suit that Sirius XM lost a few months ago. How will it work for CBS if you are listening to the station on their stream? if they are playing a 60s song on OTA, will they have to play something else on the stream?
