Are there any good resources for (free) sound effects?

I'm trying to produce some liners and i'm looking for some real "bare bones" effects that I could toss into the mix. I also want to ensure I respect all usage rights (even though i'm sure that many individuals out there who just use whatever they please). If you know of any good resources, please let me know!
