    Just because you feel the website is clunky is no defense for breaking the law. Have you ever looked at how complicated the tax laws are? It doesn't matter. You break the law, and you are at fault, regardless of how hard it is to know the law. No one's forcing you to play any music at all.
    But if you are trying to NOT play their stuff, trying to stay legal that should be taken in account. It is like choosing to not use a toll express lanes. If the lines are not painted and clearly marked and you wonder into the pay express lanes you will not be ticketed. If you are hunting and wonder onto someone's land and it is not fenced or posted no trespassing they can not call the law if you leave when asked. If SESAC can not show how to avoid their songs in court in front of a Jury or Judge in a reasonable manner they would have real trouble getting a judgement.
