Info about him:
He won American Idol season 7. His style is pop/rock. Had two albums on RCA (David Cook, This Loud Morning). Now an indie artist. Top40/AC/HAC singles were Time of My Life, Light On, Come Back To Me, The Last Goodbye, Fade Into Me.

Wow, crowd sourcing an album already!?! Seems like he's fallen off pretty quickly if it's come down to that.

Pledge Music is generally thought of as a crowdfunding site for artists. But it’s more than that. Some artists, including big names, are using Pledgemusic as a way to sell and distribute their product.

I'm more surprised that his contract with AI didn't last at least three albums.

I don't know how long the contract is for but several winners and runners-up parted ways after one or two albums. Many of the ones that left I would consider niche artists, better suited for smaller labels.
