Robin Williams, Oscar-Winning Actor, Dead at 63

Nice tribute.

I did finally see the word somewhere that I am now amazed I never saw in media coverage or on any web sites such as this. It should have been our first reaction.

"Shazbot!"

Yesterday was the day to read actual newspapers at the library. There are four of them, which take me a little over an hour each to look at every two weeks (that means if every newspaper was received by the library, which it generally isn't, there are 56 newspapers that I look at). Obviously I can't do much other than make notes of what to see online if I haven't seen it already. An editorial cartoon showed a candle that was out, with the smoke still lingering but forming the words "Nanu nanu".

I did take time to read a few articles, including one which said a dying girl wanted to meet Robin. Make a Wish was going to fly her to where he was but she was too sick. He flew to her. She was so far gone she didn't even know who he was, until he did his "Mrs. Doubtfire" character for her and that brought her back. That was just a few weeks ago, but the girl has died.

Robin Williams' reportedly suffered dementia before suicide
AOL News, Nov 11 2014 2:00 PM

Newly leaked details about the events leading up to Robin Williams' death paint a painful picture of the beloved actor's final days. The late actor committed suicide in August, shortly after learning he had Parkinson's disease, but the latest report suggests it might have been Lewy Body Dementia that ultimately lead to his death. Lewy Body Dementia is a condition commonly associated with Parkinson's and affects an estimated 1.3 million Americans, and according to the Lewy Body Dementia Association as many as 80 percent of patient experience visual hallucinations. A coroner's office report released Friday stated that the actor had no alcohol or illegal drugs in his system at the time of his death. According to TMZ, doctors and sources connected with the family say dementia was a "key factor" they believe drove him to take his own life.
