WHO WILL GO ALL CHRISTMAS FIRST IN NEW YORK? AND WHEN?

So if hurricane Sandy just stayed at sea and never bothered anyone do you think WLTW would have gone all Christmas this early?
I'm really not trying to be a grinch, but IMHO this is a poor excuse to make money off of advertisers.

As pointed out many times within this thread: this is NOT early for WLTW to flip; it's par for the course. If I were them and could rake in the bucks advertising-wise, well...

Although, the December PPM ratings survey period (roughly 2nd week November thru 1st week December) and more so the Holiday PPM ratings survey period (roughly 2nd week December thru 1st week January) have become so skewed that some entities don't put much weight on the data - especially so in the diary markets where the "Holiday period" is not even rated by Arbitron.

Some stations in PPM markets [especially outside of the market's Holiday music station(s)] still follow the "4 quarters of the year" approach [using the first 12 4-week surveys of the year divided by 4] and kind of "downplay" the 13th Holiday 4-week period being as there's a lot of time off for regular on-air staff + specialty programming.

Citation/verification needed ;) on the last 2 paragraphs and discussion welcomed.
