Best FM signals in CT

I've seen this on other boards....and it brings up some decent, intelligent discussion, so why not here? In your opinion, what are the best FM signals in Connecticut?

I think KC101 takes the cake overall... open channel and I don't think there's anywhere you can go in Connecticut in a car and not be able to hear them.

For class A's - it's a tough call. Thoughts?
The opinions expressed above are my own, and my own only.

http://www.twitter.com/adamrivers

104.1 has pretty good coverage, as do 99.1 and 107.9

I live in northern Ct, so...
WRCH 100.5
WCCC 106.9
WAQY 102.1 Springfield
WHYN 93.1 Springfield
WTIC FM 96.5

97.1 comes in very well here in Windsor Locks, but I'm not sure how much of a reach it has signal wise.

As far as Connecticut-based FM signals go, I have to agree with Adam about WKCI, but Connecticut has no shortage of big signals. WWYZ had been the strongest off West Peak in Meriden - not sure if that's changed.

You can add WWYZ as a contender for best signal in CT.

is there any research that has been done for this?
you really have to split this into 5 categories

per Population in reguards to listening inside buildings etc
WCTZ - WKCI -WPLR WRKI 1 Norwalk & 2 Bridgeport (Boosters currently off)

per powerful signal by FCC regulations in CT
WEBE

per listener feedback. For example stations that come in going way the hell out of their COL range
WRKI, (albany) WCCC - albany and southern VT.
WXCI (ok figure I'd throw my radio station in lol)

Out Of state stations covering most of CT
WAQY WAAF west of worcester MA (paxton currently off)

Stations making it to SW CT Stamford Greenwich from Meriden Peak area
WPLR WKCI

I've always thought WZMX 93.7 was also pretty strong.

This one's just over the border, but I've been able to pick up WAQY 102.1 clearly all the way up I-91 from New Haven to about Mt. Ascutney, VT.

you used to pick WAQY up to that area clearly but 101.9 WKKN is now on... so you loose it near exit 4 in Putney and get it back in Springfield VT at exit 7 for a bit. I miss when there was rock 101.7 up that way. those were the days of active rock not only did I loose WAQY but I lost WAAF as well when they moved closer to Boston. as your on the subject, 105.1 WTOS from central Maine as well as many far away radio stations makes presence bouncing off Mt.Ascutney.
