Et tu Brute? Boston Globe says NPR should stand on its own financially

When I started in small-town (commercial) radio, I worked as the AM drive news reader. I had no journalism background. It was a real struggle the first few weeks, because I felt the proper thing to do is rip'n'read AP copy. Eventually, I began to get out more and cover local events, which helped immensely. But I also drew the ire of the small-town newspaper (particularly the editor) which had previously held a monopoly on local news, and the $$$ that came with it. The paper is now publishing fewer days per week, giving my former employer an even bigger opportunity for news.

I would be entirely unsurprised if the Globe published this piece out of spite, as A says.
