So, have you sampled the new Joe Crummy show on WABC between Imus and Rush? What do you think??

I like the fact that he's not just talking politics and that he's interacting with callers. The show does sound live and local, but the clock still seems like it's network oriented as they seem to end the hour before the top of the hour. Hope this isn't going to be another fast syndication effort for WABC...Joe and Mika was such a sucess!

Does he do his show live from New York? When he was on Phoenix stations, he actually was doing the show from his home studio in Southern California.

"Crummey is live and local"... for now... Hey, if they can syndicate Larry Kudlow on the weekends, they'll syndicate anything! When does Mark Simone get his syndication deal? ???

I agree wholeheartdly! Never believe that just because Joe Crummey is currently live and local that WABC is changing its philosophy. They are and will remain "syndication central", the flagship for Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin and Batchelor. When the time is right, Joe Crummey will go national. Not sure what the plans are for Mark Simone, but he has filled in for Hannity and Limbaugh.

I find it disgraceful that WLS Chicago, KABC Los Angeles and KGO San Francisco offer more local programming than WABC, despite all of them being under the same ownership. KGO actually stayed local 24/7, even under Citadel. Who knows what Cumulus will do there, but that's for another thread.

You have to wonder what the post Fared times will offer for the classic ABC stations including WABC.

All Cumulus has to do with WABC is take Joe Crummey national and they'll be back to 100% syndicated Mon-Fri. WABC is a lost case. I wonder too, what Cumulus will do the other classic ABC talk stations, all of whom have far more local programming than WABC. ???

KGO is THE local station becz all syndi shows are on sister station KSFO.
WLS is fortunate their PD delays Hannity's show for local content , otherwise they have no chance against top rated WGN.

WABC's afternoon ratings are dragged down by the hyped Hannity show which is a no show as both news stations WCBS,WINS, and even WOR's Steve Malzberg are way ahead.

News stations WCBS and WINS are 100% local. Malzberg isn't. He's syndicated on the WOR Radio Network and only two of his three hours are carried on WOR. :(

Malzberg is more local than Hannity at times, and as much local as WCBS is. WCBS's top and bottom of the hour news mostly covers international/national news, thats not my idea of 'local'. Now, WINS IS LOCAL!

Malzberg can be more local because he's not on nearly as many stations as Hannity. WCBS picks up national news from CBS Radio at the top of each hour. Everything else is local. Yes, WINS is 100% local. :)

Who cares why Malzberg is more local ? Fact is he is discussing Tri-state area issues, and that's why he beats Hannity. Syndication talk does not work well in this market unless its an intelligent/entertaining host.
