I see they were one of the few ABC affiliates to run the soaps at the bottom of the hour...

I would imagine that the natives leave the island to visit other places like Japan, Austraila and of course the mainland.

I know some years back Six Flags and Cedar Fair for a time offered some sort of charterd plane service from Hawaii to the mainland ( mainly California for Magic Mountain and Knotts Berry Farm ) for those natives who wanted to get that roller coaster fix since Hawaii despite being a major tourist attraction..doesn't have any amusement parks.
