HIP CRICKET

Anybody have any experience with HipCricket short code text promotions?

I've heard a lot of great things about this company and this technology for promotions, but nothing about how much it costs to get it implemented.

Any idea on initial cost for HipCricket or a similar SMS short code text service?

$5K .... ouch. I wonder if the have tiered pricing depending on market size (?). I've heard longer-code services are way less.

If you're simply looking to build a text club, sign up for Radio Voodoo. It's a barter service, and they can manage. It's a BASIC setup, but can be a good start for a broadcaster to test the text market.
