OK group...here it is,

CBS Radio Detroit's Live 97.1 "FREE FM" head nugget announced that they have signed a deal that will bring the Detroit tigers and Detroit Red Wings to the hot talk station, but sadly with all good things..the bad must follow..

Michelle McCormick , one half of the "MOTOR CITY MIDDAYS" show was FIRED on christmas
Jay Towers, the other half will team with show producer Bill Alexander on a temporary basis until a new show is announced, as for Jay Towers, reports are that he will be moved to another CBS Radio Detroit property.

Rob Parker and Mark Wilson were fired and their 7-11pm slot was replaced on Thursday by SPORTING NEWS RADIO

Mark Wilson's last show will be the final Lions Post-Game show this sunday

the future of Opie And Anthony are yet unknown, but despite rumors on other boards, their afternoon team of Jeff Deminski and Bill Doyle will rermain at 3pm-7pm

The contract calls for WXYT and WKRK to be CO-Flagships of the tigers but full flagship on the wings,
the tigers afternoon games would be heard on WXYT
the tigers night games would be heard on WKRK due to WXYT's poor nighttime signal

From what I could figure out
Their weeknight 7-11 will be givn for now to Sporting news Radio
what happens in the weekend afternoons you could say will be a mix of local and SNR

Free FM adds more pro sports

97.1 is the Lions flagship and the Red Wings co-flagship. Beginning March 1 Free FM also becomes the Tigers co-flagship.

If there's a Wings-Tigers conflict you'll hear one club on 97.1 and the other on 1270 XYT. It'll depend on the matchup and starting times.

If there's a Lions-Tigers or Lions-Wings conflict you'll always hear the Lions on 97.1 and the other club on 1270 XYT.

If there is no conflict in the daytime, however, I've heard that Tigers games will be heard on both stations.
