Seems to me that WHRL was Smooth Jazz by this time.

How about 1965?

Actually WHRL was still elevator, in 1985. In 1987, they made a short lived attempt at A/C, to go after WKLI, and than flipped to New Age/Smooth Jazz, in 1988.

Don\'t forget 101.9-WJIV, which hadn\'t opened the bible, yet. They were some type of elevator/MOR format, in those days.

Yikes! You are right again, TT! (How could I forget WXKW... my favorite station in those days!)

Help, please... I wasn't in the area yet in '68.

Where was WXKW located, when did it go away, and why? Was it maybe a daytimer? (I'd think with WWRL in NYC on the same frequency, it couldn't have had much night power, if any, and nighttime flea power was much less common then, right?)
