I have to say its about time that they got rid of that psychic/medium show. It didn't fit the station's profile in my opinion.

Who cares! That psychic show was the best thing to happen
to KBIG.

And with Jhani Kaye's contract not being renewed, his days at KOST and KBiG come to an end...

If what your saying about Jhani is true. And it sounds like it maybe. He had a fantastic run and career. That guy will move on and continue to do what he does best. Kudos to him.

He's paid until his contract is over at the end of the year.

You seem to have intimate knowledge of what's going on in Burbank.
Do you work on the 4th or 5th floor?

You know, Glenn, it's funny.

I have known Jhani for something like 20 years now, we talk somewhat frequently, and he vehemently denies this rumor that you keep trying to spread.

Either (a) you are misinformed; (b) you know nothing and are just throwing rumors out, hoping something will "stick" and prove your credibility; or (c) you're just delusional. I'm not sure which, but I haven't found you to be right often enough to take you at your word without outside confirmation.

Case in point: No one at Infinity confirms your yarn about Rick Dees "almost" going to KRTH but turning down a three-year deal. NO ONE.

Making lots of posts, trying to improve your odds, and sparring with one of the moderators does not make you credible. You keep getting banned for a reason, you know ...
______________

The story about Dees is true. He got cold feet because he still sees himself talking up Chingy at 85 years old.

Damn KMR,you're funny too. Such selective memory.

Glenn is only one of two people on this board who correctly called the Dees situation, and if memory serves, was pretty accurate about the Arrow situation as well.

I've mentioned before that you should let this one play out and then hold him accountable for any and all bad predictions. To be fair, Glenn has had some of those too, but this is radio, I don't know anyone who gets it right all the time. And you've been in this business long enough to know that rumors of this type are a staple of the radio business. The idea that you think you can moderate an interesting and relevant radio board without rumor and innuendo is just as funny as the selective memory.

Thanks for an insightful assessment, Flip.

IIRC, Glenn posted two rumors about KCBS and one about Dees before the ones that played out, and the previous rumors didn't (obviously) play out. (Which you acknowledge in your next paragraph, Flip; which one of us has the selective mmeory now?)

My problem with Glenn (and the reason he's been banned so many times by the owners) is that he spins the rumor as if it was absolute certainty. That comes off as arrogant at best, especially since he hasn't always been right. As you say, no one does, but Glenn posts as if he's infallible.

You're right on the money with your next-to-last statement. It just irritates me (and others, judging from my e-mail) when they are played as "this is absolutely going to happen". And that happens so much around here that I have a really short fuse now.

Innuendo, on the other hand, borders on slander and libel, so I really can't let that happen. The owners really do expect moderators to clamp down on that.
______________

Re: "Boogie Nights" and rumors

Don't know about the other stuff....
and KM I agree wholeheartedly with your take on it.

But.... the "rumor" about a three year deal being the thing that
stopped Dees at KEARTH is ABSOLUTELY TRUE.

Until that surfaces somewhere like AllAccess, R&R, or LARadio.com, I'm afraid that is still going to have to be considered hearsay.

My point all along, in terms of rumors, has been and is ... anonymous posters on message boards are not credible, verifiable sources.
______________

So you're saying Glenn needs to be published?...

Oh, I'd LOVE to see him quoted, with full name, in one of the trades.
______________
