    Lottery announcements

Many radio stations announce state lottery results. Do they get paid for what is essentially a promotion of the lottery, or do they provide the results as a 'public service?'

For the most part, probably not. There is usually a TV station in each market that broadcasts the live drawing and the long-form weekend show, if any..I'm not sue in those cases if cash is exchanged or not. You certainly could sell the lottery results, particularly to a lotttery retailer in your town.<P ID="signature">______________

In answer to your question at the bottom:
Did the Corinthians ever write back?

    Re: Lottery announcements

I've known some morning shows to broadcast lottery results because they believe, right or wrong, that people want to hear them.

I've also known sales managers to successfully twist the arm of the program director to persuade them to do it so as to nail down an advertising buy.

IMHO...Reading the lottos is akin to giving the sports scores...
