Why not ask the engineers about the build out of new offices at CC and when the big flip will take place? People are nervous in the building about when they will be claiming unemployment. How can new owners keep the stations in the same building?

You don't think CC would let them go completely did you? :)

Maybe they will charge some very high rent and make as much money as they did when "operating" them.

I wonder if they will move Z90 to 94.1 and drop the Hot AC on My. I can see them letting go of Magic and Kool, since intrest in those formats looks to be falling off. Also, there's probably alot of overlap between Rock105 and 91X, so I wouldn't be suprised to seem them do some consolodating there as well, (no need to keep 91.1 then). Also, I believe (and correct me if I'm wrong) that 91X was given a run for it's money by FM 94/9.

The only trouble is, what's to stop a new owner of any of these spin offs from restoring one or more of these formats, say altenative on 91.1?

First off, the way this thread started is more of the rumor/conjecture nonsense that the management dislikes so much.

To the original question about "why not ask about the new offices" I would point out that, since CC knows it is divesting part of its station group in SD there is no reason why they couldn't keep stations they are divesting in their old facilities until they hand them off.

You know, of course, that the above comes dangerously close to predictions. It's very hard to make any kind of guess when we don't actually know for sure what CC is thinking.

Unless there is some kind of non-compete clause (and I'm not familiar enough with Mexican JSAs to know how those are structured), that would be entirely possible.

I know what I would do with 91X, but thus far, no one has asked me.

Or maybe do something COMPLETELY different!

As far as guessing goes, there's been a lot of talk that somehow Z90 will survive. Why CC would move it to 94.1 - I don't know. KMYI is very competitive with KFMB-FM - and they now own the Hot AC position with KFMB-FM going "Jack."

I didn't see the 2004 billing, but Z90 will likely be down since they are being beat by XMOR, while KMYI is on an uptick. One would think CC would want the only Hot AC - rather than the second rhythmic. But, they may have other reasons.

It may depend who winds up with the stations as well. I disagree with Garrett about Magic. That station is always a solid 25-54 performer - and is one of the few original Jammin' Oldies stations to still be hanging in there (albiet modified slightly over the years).

Cool is almost sure to be a goner.
