It doesn’t look like WHQC’s reformat has done anything to help, but hopefully it’s still too soon and once listeners dispersed from all Christmas they gave them a listen. Still tied with WNKS though.

WHQC's cume is up. They've been 11th or 12th for some time, and were 9th this book, beating full market stations WOSF, WPEG and WNKS. Sometimes it takes a couple of months for changes to start reflecting in the ratings, but increasing cume could be a good sign. Still getting killed in mornings.

Once we get closer to November, the ratings will go up. News Talk stations usually have their best performance in Presidential years.

You may not like the hosts or the format, and I don’t like a lot of it either, but that doesn’t change the reality that the station is performing well. They were #1 in prime over the summer, and will likely be #1 in prime going into the summer/fall again this year.

What WBT is doing is working. They’re not changing anything anytime soon. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

You forgot they should also dump Fox News.

The problem is this is their brand now. WBT has already chased away anyone not interested in MAGA talk. It would take a lot of promotional money and effort to get them back.

WBT is making money now but for how long? I know we've been saying this for a long time but it will come to an end, everything does.

WFNZ used to be around a 1 share 6+ when they were on 610. They've been in the 2's or occasionally 3's since they transitioned over to 92.7. Go back into some earlier threads and look.

You seem to forget about Rush Limbaugh. He was definitely not for everyone, and had some pretty extreme views. The Republican Party in general has moved all the way over to MAGA. It's not just a WBT thing. The reality is the target audience or format hasn't changed. They're still going after old rich white Republican men. "Conservative Talk"

The format won't last forever, but for right now it's working. When it stops working, that's when they'll look at making a change.
 
Look what's tops in the youth demo. WKQC and its Christmas format is #1 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54. And WLKO and its Christmas format is #2 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.

It's always fun to see the youngest demo listening to Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Karen Carpenter and Andy Williams from November to December. Folks in this demo weren't born (or just barely) when these people were still alive.

Forget about Rushie? I don't think so! As for the Republican Party moving more right stations like WBT have amplified the voices of those who chose to resort to doom and gloom. WBT had a great reputation and still does among many people. I heard it on WBT so it must be true, well that used to be the case.

As for going after rich old white Republican men, there are plenty who are not rich listening too. To be a Republican seems to be a Southern thing.

If Radio One/WBT waits until the format doesn't work anymore it just may be too late but you're probably right, they'll probably wait, then flip it to a Sports Format...brilliant!

My Granddaughter got into collecting records last year. She likes Metal and K-Pop. She also discovered she likes Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby...go figure! It might have been my subtle influence but I find it works better when it's her idea!
 
I would like to see WBT return to CBS News rather than FOX News. Locally they also still source news contributors from WBTV, although no longer co-owned. As well as WJZY, otherwise known as Queen City News. Which is a bit ironic, as Nexstar has tried to minimize any association with WJZY and FOX News Channel, which is why they dropped FOX-46 from their news branding. And don't even carry reports from FOX News, relying instead on their own News Nation.
