What happens to KLAA when the Angels are sold?

What company would pay huge dollars for broadcast rights to the Angels? Audacy clearly doesn’t want it. Dodgers on 570. Way too many conflicts to be on 710. As dumb as this sounds if he did want to sell rights, he‘d better call Saul
Call Mr. Saul indeed, 830 is fair to poor daytime in the SFV, poor to non-existent at night. The Angels should be simulcast on 1260 which would generally solve the SFV and LA Westside recep prob with 830 and the Angels.

KLAA 830 AM would become a Vietnamese language radio station as a Little Saigon Radio VNCR Radio since this station is in Orange County we don't need too much Sports Radio stations the LA Market already has KLAC, KSPN and XEPRS (3 Sports Radio stations in the Los Angeles Market) that's enough, in other words Salem Media Group might be an option to buy KRDC 1110 AM to become another Christian talk Radio station become as a simulcast of KPRZ 1210 AM in San Diego that's my suggestions

XEPRS does not have a good enough signal today to be competitive in the LA market. It has not shown numbers in LA for years, and with its antenna system damaged it is even less viable in even the coastal areas of the LA market.

For whatever reasons, the fan base of the Angels is mostly the OC and nearby SGV and Long Beach areas of LA County. For that fan base, 830 is more than adequate.

KLAA 830 AM should of flip to an Vietnamese-Language Radio Station as VNCR Radio simulcasting KALI 106.3 FM since AM 830 is in Orange County

XEPRS 1090 AM has a big coverage and a strong signal from Santa Barbara to Baja California I hear it has a good signal I know better than that

The area already has KVNR on 1480 and brokered KALI, both licensed to Santa Ana in Orange Country. And why would KALI, already in Santa Ana and on FM, want an expensive to operate AM signal?

KLAA's transmitter is actually in Riverside Country on the other side of the mountains from Orange County.

Right now, and for many months, it has been running less power on just two towers due to antenna damage. The station has been for sale for some time by the owner, so its future is uncertain.

Even back in the 80's when it was in Spanish still, XEPRS had little signal and less audience in LA County except on the shoreline, such as Long Beach. It got little audience elsewhere. Today, the high noise levels due to new electronic devices makes it useless even a mile inland from the shore. To overcome noise now, you need a 10 mV/m to 15 mV/m signal, and XEPRS does not have that in nearly all of the LA radio market.

KLAA 830 AM should of flip to a Chinese-Language Radio Station as a U Radio affiliate that's that this station needs to become

About XEPRS 1090 AM you can't hear it it's become of the bad signal from last week's rain it rained so hard all week long until Tuesday that was problem that's been causing the antennas of their transmitters

I must say that here in the West SFV XEPRS is interference free, easily heard between KNX and KRDC

And you are relatively close to the ocean. Go in to the central Valley and it's gone or very noisy.

I'm in the SM Mountains foothills, David but I'll stand corrected, I just tuned into 1090 and at this moment (midday Sunday) they are really weak. I thought that in the recent past they were back up to their normal ERP, as I tuned in to them awhile back and their signal seemed to be what it normally would be. But their real problem, just like it was back in the Wolfman Jack XERB days is incessant night time selective fading distortion. Their strong skywave cancels their moderate groundwave. An AM tuner/receiver with a synchronous detector should solve that problem, however to my knowledge in terms of a comsumer type receiver only JVC offered a couple of them back in the 1980's. I used one of these receivers back then, but because some clown in JVC's engineering department thought it would be a good idea to put a muting circuit in the AM, it proved to be useless. As you know, when a station goes into fading distortion it's because the carrier wave is being cancelled out and only the sidebands get through.
Consequently the audio in this tuner would shut off, totally defeating the purpose of the synchronous detector.

You're writing repetitive replies as if you're a broken record. No need for that. (And, close your sentences with a period. 😊)

And make up your mind already!! Chinese or Vietnamese? But more importantly, which of those communities would better support such a station financially?

Someone who has a better knowledge of the lay of the land can better answer that.

I know of Luis from Facebook groups that has been briefly a part of but then got kicked out of. Luis is a well meaning young man who has what nowadays is called an intellectual disability. He is trying to contribute to discussions in his own unique way but doesn’t understand the disruption that he has caused in all the other forums that has been removed from . It is up to the moderators like David Eduardo to deal with him. I’m just stating my observations based on what he has written and done elsewhere

Back to KLAA, do the Angels get any coverage besides score updates on the KLAC/KSPN? From what I can tell, the talk is Lakers, Lakers, Lakers, sometimes Dodgers, sometimes Rams, then Lakers.

No and why would they? They’ve only been to the playoffs once in the last 12 years. There’s no sign they’ll be any better this year. Shohei Ohtani is going to leave. The signal the Angels are on is the best possible fit. If 830 does go out of business, I don’t see any other company in L.A. wanting to pay rights fees for the Angels. As mentioned before the ship has sailed a long time ago on Audacy doing anything sports related. And, no other company will waste an fm stick, in L.A. for an all sports format
