Can someone tell me again why it makes better business sense to flip WISX instead of WRFF? They can surely package-sell WISX with WIOQ, WUSL, and WDAS-FM, no? Meanwhile, I've heard rumors of lots of Cash for Gold commercials on WRFF. (I made that up for effect but, hey, it could be true.) While I suppose they can package-sell WRFF with WIOQ to some extent, could that possibly be as lucrative? If they're going to try Adult Contemporary, why not put it on 104.5? (Hell, they could actually call it Sunny. They probably still have the jingles somewhere. Although, I suppose they'd need a re-sing to "Four decades of Sunny music...")
Wherever it lands (if it lands at all), I hope the folks at iHeart Philly realize from history that going head-on with WBEB isn't a "hope it's lucrative enough" situation as much as it's "do or die." Just throwing the standard iHeart AC library on the air isn't gonna do it. They're going to have to put some real work into the music library.
