Radio Disney Apparently Gone From NYC Airwaves

Radio Disney is apparently no longer being carried on the HD3 of Alt. 92.3. It had been broadcasting on this channel for several years, after selling WQEW 1560 AM.
This probably affects a tiny amount of listeners, as the network promotes listening online, via its app. The Radio Disney website doesn't even mention HD Radio.
A similar pre-teen pop music network can still be heard on air. Z100 continues to carry Nick Radio on its HD2.
It seems that another local lease arrangement has also been discontinued. Hot 97 hasn't been rebroadcasting an Indian music station for at least several weeks.

It looks like Radio Disney may be gone from all Entercom subchannels that carried it, as it was also dropped from Entercom's WXTU-HD3 in Philadelphia.

The Radio Disney deal was a company-wide deal done by CBS a few years ago. It's possible that deal ended yesterday, because RD has also been dropped from WXTU's HD-3 in Philadelphia. As you say, the emphasis at RD has been on it's app, so perhaps they are no longer pursuing the HD radio side of things.

I wonder how their numbers have changed, if there has been any change, since leaving the airwaves.

RD remains on Sirius XM ... I think. I have no access to a radio right now, but the display, as reported on the monitor on the XmFan website that updates every minute or so, apparently reads a generic "XM Radio Disney / Radio Disney" instead of the artist/title info usually shown. Any SXM subscribers out there who can check to see if Disney programming is still on, or is SXM running a low-bitrate "This channel is no longer on the air" apology message?

Alt 92.3 continues to simulcast sister station Fresh 102.7 on HD2. The message on the display encourages listeners to tune into Alt 92.3 on HD1.
I could understand rebroadcasting a weaker local station on HD2, such as WNYC FM does with WQXR. But Fresh and Alt 92.3 have similar coverage. Any information or at least a guess why this is being done?

BTW, Radio Disney continues to be carried on satellite radio.

That's no excuse, I think they dropped Radio Disney altogether from all Entercom stations carrying it in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas, Philadelphia, Miami, Seattle, Phoenix, Minneapolis, San Diego, Denver, St. Louis, Portland, Sacramento, Kansas City, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Norfolk/VA Hampton Roads, Greensboro, New Orleans and Memphis. I'd say "What a blow for Radio Disney!"

You're assuming that Entercom dropped it, rather than Radio Disney chose not to renew? How can you make that assumption?

The fact that Entercom didn't actually have a replacement ready leads me to believe they didn't drop it.

And Disney itself does not even run the pop Radio Disney on their 1110 AM in LA!

And there are Radio Disney stations all over Latin America... but they are "soccer mom" AC stations, not pre-adolescent kid stations.

My guess is it's a placeholder until some kind of strategy is developed. It's obviously not a big priority.

My guess is that when they left the AM band, it was the sign of them leaving OTA radio altogether. It was just the start of it. Flipping the LA station from pop to Disney country sealed it further. The pop will be streaming only.

I can also confirm Radio Disney is off of KOOL HD3 in Phoenix as well. KOOL's HD was off the air yesterday, but this morning when I checked, HD was back on and the HD 3 had been turned off.
