Christmas music. Who will flip first locally?

Correct Answer. Don Pardo, tell the man what he has won.

Every year, I think that KOST will flip to "Sounds of the Holidays" or whatever it is that they call it on November 1. One day I will be correct.

Also every year I notice the one holiday that seems to be celebrated less and less on the KOST's "Sounds of the Seasons" is... you guessed it - Christmas! So you'll hear plenty of "Sleigh Ride" and "Winter Wonderland" over the next two months, but don't be waiting up for "Silent Night".

I like christmas music but the problem not just in this market but all markets is the lack of variety in christmas music. I know it has to test well it is sad. I did hear a shins christmas tune a few years ago on kost and I was shocked.

Why not collective soul blue christmas. Why not jethro tull god rest ye merry gentlemen. Why not five for fighting silent night. I rarely even here a classic kinks father christmas or barenaked ladies god rest ye. Kost plays that but not in hot rotation. I give 105.1 for playing candy cane christmas by dareus rucker. Just thought i vent.

One of Donald Trump's first campaign pledges was "We'll all be saying Merry Christmas again," so maybe he'll try to strong-arm the FCC into penalizing stations that don't play a certain percentage of songs about the New Testament events. Or maybe try to do so by executive order. By "all," I assume he means everyone, regardless of belief or non-belief, so I'd better start practicing!

This scenario has a zero percent chance of becoming a reality.

Have you read the first amendment? It's pretty clear about mandating religion.

I wonder if he's been successful getting his son in law to say Merry Christmas.

Yeah.. Mariah Carey floods the markets as if she actually owns them all. I'd much rather hear the Rat Pack type songs, the Darlene Love's, the Ronnettes & the Crystals, the Andy Williams....etc... You know, the real Christmas music.

Happy Holidays or Season's Greetings to me, is too generic. It's Merry Christmas or bust.

At 701 this morning the sound flipped to all christmas music until emf takes over. Even their facebook imaging got rebranded this morning. We will see if its just Christmas rock or a wide variety like KOST does.

Semi-educated guess. In past years, KOST has been flipping close to the Veteran's Day holiday - either just before or after. The new ratings book starts around the 10th or 11th of November (I think). Friday is the start of said holiday weekend...

Does it really matter? They're going to all be playing the same 60 shitty songs that they play every year.....When they start I'll turn off my radio till December 26th. Yeah....Bah! Humbug!
