YouTube is discontinuing the originals

Not surprising. There are lots of other, better established streaming services offering some really great original content - and most people probably think of YouTube as a place for "how to" videos and things like bits from older movies, shows and the like, not necessarily a go to site for original movies or series. On the other end of the YouTube's model, it's been a long time since we've seen lots of YouTube videos going viral as was once the case somewhat often. The focus for shorter, user generated content now seems to be on TikTok.

True but also YouTube has to respond to competition like Twitch along with tik tok and even cable for viewers
Odysee.com is another place where independent vloggers are going to for viral content. Its just that Youtube itself has become what cable was in 2005 when Youtube inc was born.
