WUBG "Big 98.3" Plainfield/Indianapolis Stunting

Turned on the FM receiver shortly after midnight Monday (about an hour ago) to hear Big 98.3 stunting. Will they be pulling off a complete format change or will there be new branding while trying to be Indy's 3rd country signal? I'm thinking the former, as Nielsen has WUBG near the bottom of the pack. Will this be the "oldies" station I thought would replace Radio Disney? Classic country? Who knows. We'll find out at noon.

Update: per Lance Venta, the flip will be to urban to go head-to-head with Radio One's WHHH as "Real 98.3" with WZRL calls.

Random thoughts from an old-timer:

Not that this "Real" could ever be confused with the short lived "Real 97.1." By the way, whatever happened to "Monique and the Man?"

There was a time when WZPL could have blocked those call letters. Remember WXTZ blocking WXCB from being placed on the short lived country formatted CB-108 WIFE-FM?

And one might quip that former "Love 98" general manager Gary Arnold must be spinning in his grave. Though those who knew the gentleman will joyfully say he's now otherwise engaged.
