WLS TV set to end 7 PM Newscast on The U

If you haven't watched WLS' 7 PM newscast that airs on WCIU, you had better do it soon as Robert Feder had a report that they are ending the 7 PM newscast https://www.robertfeder.com/2019/07/29/abc-7-end-7-p-m-newscast-u/ , despite the show airing on WCIU the newscast as originated from the ABC studios in Chicago since 2015, and the news team for this newscast are news anchors Cheryl Burton and Hosea Sanders, meteorologist Larry Mowry and sports anchor Jim Rose. The end date is August 30th so you have all of August if you want to watch the news. This is prompted by WCIU's new new affiliation agreement with the CW. This has been agreed on by both stations, starting September 2nd it will become CW 26, and most of its night programming expect for the news, and who knows else what will mover to WCUU-Channel 26.2, which currently is The U Too.

How Much of the cuts is a Disney wide thing or is this just in Chicago thats cutting their newscast due to the affiliation change at WCIU-TV.

If you had looked at the article you would have your answer, this looks like it is dye to the chance at WCIU and assuming they didn't want their news on the sub channel
