WEZW Aircheck at MostlyUpperMidwestAirchecks.com

November 1, 2015.

MostlyUpperMidwestAirchecks.com is pleased to announce the recent donation of a 2 hour aircheck of WEZW-FM Milwaukee, most likely taped in 1980 to its growing online archives of Milwaukee radio airchecks. Mark Pfeifer, website founder and archivist stated: “WEZW is a much remembered station by those who have lived in the Milwaukee area. It was also a top radio ratings earner for much of the 1970s and 1980s. To date, only a few brief station I.D.s of the station have been available in our online radio museum. Jeff Rohde contacted us after recently finding an 8-track tape at a garage sale with multiple unedited hours of WEZW on it. We are very grateful to Mr. Rohde for donating a digital copy of this valuable recording documenting the sound of a major station from Milwaukee radio of days gone by.”

The Milwaukee radio page is the most comprehensive of the various radio markets included in the MostlyUpperMidwestAirchecks.com online broadcasting museum. Other recent additions have included multiple airchecks of Milwaukee top 40 WRIT-AM from the late 1960s which have been added to the extensive collections already featured on the site of 1970s and 1980s stations including WZUU, WKTI, WTMJ, WLUM and WOKY. Pfeifer notes that the online broadcasting museum is very interested in receiving other donations of recordings of Milwaukee and other Midwestern stations from earlier eras up through the 1990s. The website also includes extensive exhibits of airchecks from additional Upper Midwest radio markets including Madison, WI, La Crosse, WI, the Fox Cities, WI, Wausau, WI, Rockford, IL, Chicago and St. Louis. To go back decades to listen to radio from Milwaukee and other Midwestern Cities from days gone by visit: MostlyUpperMidwestAirchecks.com.
