Once again I am impressed at Clear Channel Genius. That they thought to combine unadulterated traffic ineptitude with monotonous daily hack in order to produce a more attractive product for which stations will besiege them with requests.
>>>Better look for other jobs if you work there now.<<<
I don't think Clear Channel bought it to destroy it. CC now has to deliver traffic reports to virtually every radio station in all the important markets. They can't do that with nobody.
Will they try to find ways to economize? I'm sure that's true, although Metro/Shadow already had a round of layoffs and the closing of operations in smaller market in 2009. But CC's own traffic service is so small, they clearly will need many of the Metro/Shadow Traffic reporters and staff to get the job done.
The Metro reporters are already doing more reports per hour in major markets than Clear Channel's are (primarily due to CC having less stations.) It will be quite difficult for them to cut staff by much and service the accounts.
