Very bizzare!

Looks like someone was asleep at the wheel when internic sent out expiration notice. Hey someone should now grab the domain from them.

The WBOS website is now back up. They probably had to pay double to get the website back.

Is there a noticeable difference between WROR and WBOS?
Seems like these two stations are a little close in terms of format/ownership.

They're pretty different. WBOS is AAA, although it leans far more to popular artists (Sheryl Crow, Sting, Coldplay) than the rimshot AAA, 92.5 The River, which leans far more toward independent artists.

WROR is Classic Hits, and right now, depends mainly on 70's and 80's artists (Steve Winwood, Fleetwood Mac, Rolling Stones). WROR plays no 90's or current music, leaving those to WBOS.

Right now, the formats are very different, however, if Greater Media was to take WROR to a more Jack-based format, as is being speculated, it could set Greater Media up for disaster (like what is going on now with Infinity's Chicago cluster, with stations WXRT (AAA) and WJMK (Jack)).

I have found it quite hard to continue to be listening to WBOS since the so-called make-over. WROR on the other hand seems to have become more of a regular station for me.
