Mike Dickin, heard on the UK's TalkSport, died Monday from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. The presenter, who was in his 60s, was involved in a six car pile-up on the A30 on Monday. He was airlifted to hospital but was pronounced dead. Speculation is that he may have suffered a massive heart attack.
Mike Dickin hosted a non-sport weekend show on Talksport and was last heard on the station this past weekend. He started his career at BBC Radio Oxford in the 1970s, where he was the first presenter on the air. He also broadcast on Radio 4 and LBC, and won an award for his coverage of the Lockerbie disaster in 1988. He was also the first broadcaster to announce the death of Princess Diana in 1997.
