TRIBUNE BROADCASTING ENTERS SALT LAKE CITY MARKET

News out this hour: Tribune Broadcasting will purchase all of LOCAL TV LLC's television stations in a 2 billion plus dollar deal.
Tribune will thus become owner and operator of KSTU FOX 13.

Tribune is well known as owner of KTLA, Los Angeles; WGN, Chicago; WPIX New York; and WGN America.

They are also BIG into local news on their stations, so FOX 13 should continue to have 8-9 hours of daily local newscasts.
Tribune is making a BIG push into its own syndicated shows, and what ends up on WGN America will probably filter down to its local stations, including KSTU as well.
